The Director of Technology (Development and Deployment) will be responsible for driving multiple initiatives and be actively engaged with a multi-disciplined, matrixed team that offers pragmatic digital solutions that optimize BPX Energy’s bottom line. We are looking for our Director of Technology (Development and Deployment) to manage the technology development team in coordination with the business optimization and analytics team and is responsible for defining, delivering, and managing the lifecycle of our digital solution development and deployment. We work, think and approach problems differently and we drive to change both how BPX operates and how digital is engrained in all we do and deliver to the business. In this role, you will identify new opportunities to build digital solutions to help our BPX business teams meet their financial goals. You will be responsible for creating an integrated digital solution strategy, build and manage a solution roadmap and oversee the team of technologists/developers who will deliver these transformative results to BPX.
Projects are broad in scope and require creativity and world-class strategic thinking, as well as strong project management and leadership skills. The successful candidate must be energetic and enthusiastic about digital transformation and have experience with finance and accounting or digital solution management. They will be self-motivated, results oriented and able to independently lead major strategic initiatives. Strong customer-focus on pragmatic digital solutions with high ROI is a must.

Management of the delivery teams, maintenance of the program/project plan, and oversight of the delivery process to keep efforts on track (e.g., deliverables, milestones, resources, and costs).
Technical leadership with proven results to build and manage agile development team for digital transformation and data analytic solutions (i.e. robotic process automation, Python, R, VB.net).
Vendor management including managing contracts, vendor compliance with BP policy, vendor resource management as appropriate. (i.e. UiPath, DataRobot, OCR vendors, Natural Language Processing vendors).
Publishing and regularly updating the digital transformation dashboard which tracks program progress from execution and impact point of view.
Maintaining weekly reporting and commentary regarding progress.
Assessing status and identifying risks that may impact progress.
Create technical strategy, data design, and roadmap for digital transformation solutions.
Actively participate in system design, coding and testing.
Deliver all releases on time with high quality.
Enforce coding standards across all departments.
Develop and revise statements of work, which should include accurate time and cost estimates.
Analyze user requirements and usability metrics to ensure customer satisfaction
- Technical degree in computer science, data science, engineering or other related field, graduate degree preferred

BP's BPX Energy business (formerly known as the Lower 48) operates across a vast US geography, from Texas north through the Rocky Mountains.
