It is a transformational acquisition for our BPX Energy business which gives the BPX Energy team access to some of the best acreage in some of the best basins in the onshore U.S.

Job Profile Summary:

The primary responsibilities of the IT Vendor Manager are to establish and manage principles, guidelines, standards, policy, and support for all aspects of Vendor and contract relationships. This role oversees the evaluation and selection of IT vendors as well as lead any contract negotiations. The Vendor Manager works closely with the IT Director/CIO, Applications Manage, and Infrastructure Manager to ensure contracts are being executed properly as well as report on the overall service levels and relationships, as well as creating and executing RFP processes for new vendors. The function of the role and the team is RUN & MAINTAIN IT services to the enterprise and as such focus upon service-delivery in cost efficient and risk reducing manner. As a leader in the technology organization, the successful candidate will embrace a stronger service culture, while simultaneously determining how to partner with broader Technology teams to ensure successful partner meets all the Service Levels as outlined in the contract. The Vendor Manager works to ensure vendors meet or exceed their contractual obligations by delivering quality services on time. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing contract life cycle, which includes changes, modifications, and the enforcement of performance clauses, including incentives and remedies as well as developing and monitoring service level agreements. This individual acts as the primary contact and subject matter expert for all contract-related activities. This includes assisting with negotiating contract terms, conditions, modifications, incentives and remedies, while working with key stakeholders to ensure that their requirements are met. Additionally, this position manages the contract execution process, resolving problems, mitigating delays, assisting with audits, mediating disputes and escalating issues.

Key Accountabilities

  • Domain expertise for Vendor Management, including improving the domain knowledge capabilities of the team members.

  • Maintain and Monitor all IT contracts.

  • Conduct timely review sessions with key vendors to assess progress and address issues.

  • Conduct any dispute processes including invoice disputes.

  • Collaborate with departmental leaders in the development, implementation and on-going management of agreements.

  • Assist Procurement team with bid preparation, data collection and analysis, strategy development, technology vendor negotiations, IT contract development and IT contract management.

  • Serve as an escalation point for vendor relationship issues.

  • Develop and enhance processes related to sourcing and contract execution while continuously seeking process improvement and operation efficiency.

  • Provide vendor metric and dashboard displaying vendor KPI’s.

  • Maintain an active radar on technology trends and developments, both inside and outside our industry, in the consumer enabling space.

  • Lead Month-end and Quarter-end operations and communications.

  • Participate in periodic status update meetings with Application Owners and Business users.

  • Implement and uphold processes that meet Digital Security Standards.

  • Collect essential reporting requirements and develop vendor scorecards and dashboards for presenting results and maintain/enhance tools for use in vendor management, including vendor tracking tools and vendor performance scorecards and dashboards.

Essential Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

  • 10+ years of experience in managing contracts and outsourced relationships.

  • Proven track record of working with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to interact across all levels of the organization in a professional, diplomatic and tactful manner.

Preferred Education

  • A Master’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

Essential experience and job requirements
