Development and Production USA (DPUSA) is responsible for Statoil’s portfolio of producing assets and planned field developments across the US. The primary role of this position is to provide day-to-day support of the project’s measurement of natural gas, condensate, and water. The Lead Measurement Technician will also act as a liaison between field operations and the project’s Production Volume Reporting group.
Daily monitoring of all metering systems. Responsible for new meter installations as well as preventive & corrective maintenance for all measurement related equipment.
Responsible for the maintenance and operation of flow computers and associated devices.
Responsible for maintaining the required meter calibration and adhering to company standards of documentation. Document, support, and maintain K factor limits.
Responsible for plate changes and general up keep of the end devices.
Maintain and troubleshoot measurement equipment (Primarily the EFM equipment. The PLC panels will be maintained by the Automation team).
Assess current operations, procedures, issues, and needs. Make improvement recommendations to increase production, safety, and accuracy.
Provide support when gas volume discrepancies arise and assist in volume reconciliation with the Production Volume Reporting group.
When necessary, manage project level work and direct contractors as necessary
Checking and assessing alarms and alarm logs to stay informed regarding operating condition and to ensure that metering stations function as expected.
All potential metering errors must be registered.
Follow-up tests and reporting of analyses that affect metering requirements.
Proposing updating and changes of data for meter run computers. All such changes must be logged.
Following up registration of calibration data, preparing certificates and keeping the metering filing system up to date, in accordance with guidelines specified by regulations and internal requirements and expectations. Verifying and signing log forms and calibration reports.
Making sure test equipment is calibrated and in good working order.
Report, follow up, execute and document corrective and preventive maintenance in maintenance management system (SAP PM).
Work with stakeholders and maintenance planner/scheduler for maintenance scheduling and optimization in maintenance management system.
5/2 work schedule with the possibility for emergency callout.
High school diploma or equivalent
5 year experience related to measurement in the oil and gas field
Vocational or equivalent training in general machinery operation or equipment usage, oil and gas production, or relevant field
Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts.
Able to multitask, prioritize and work in a fast-paced team environment.
Demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications. Able to learn company specific applications.
Working knowledge of low-voltage electronics, electricity and basic oil and gas principles.
Working knowledge of ABB Totalflow and Schneider Realflo EFM’s.
