Development and Production USA (DPUSA) is responsible for Statoil’s portfolio of producing assets and planned field developments across the US. The Field Facilities Engineer will be responsible for operations support and support of capital projects during design and construction for oil/gas gathering system projects and associated facilities (including well site facilities, gas compression, dehydration, liquid / liquid separation, and gas metering stations)
More specifically, job duties include the following:
Assessing plant operations and identifying optimization opportunities in support of the Production Team
Developing and implementing technical and operational improvements to the overall gas gathering and processing systems
Assisting in troubleshooting issues with equipment or process components and ensuring lessons learned are incorporated into future designs
Providing engineering support and manage Statoil's MOC process for proposed changes to operating facilities
Ensuring compliance with regulatory, industry, and corporate standards and best practices for all brownfield projects/modifications
Providing field-based engineering support during construction and commissioning activities
Following up on construction activities to ensure compliance with construction contract documents
Participating in design and HAZOP/PHA reviews
Providing feedback into design improvements based on optimization efforts and experience with plant operations
Providing feedback to Austin-based Facilities Engineers on project execution timeline and quality as well as staff, consultant, and contractor performance
Ensuring corporate requirements and initiatives related to HSE are incorporated in the design and execution of the project
Drawing on design and project exposure from a diverse array of shale gas, NGL, and unconventional oil production equipment to formulate technical solutions
Collaborate with various groups within Statoil to steward various projects to completion
This position is based in Williston, ND reporting directly to the Bakken Lead Facilities Engineer.
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of eight (8) years of facilities and/or operations experience, working with a producer/operator or service provider required
Candidates with US Onshore facilities experience are strongly preferred
Experience with Honeywell process simulation and pipeline hydraulic modeling software would be beneficial
Experience with design of facilities electrical systems would be beneficial
Working knowledge of regulations, codes, and standards applicable to US onshore shale operating regions
Proven ability to resolve design issues and operating problems arising with gas gathering and processing facilities
Strong MS Office skills: Excel spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook
Ability to work in a team environment, as a leader and/or as a member
Proactive with a strong aptitude for multi-tasking
Strong leadership skills
Demonstrated problem solving ability applicable to US Onshore facilities
Independent, self-motivated, and results oriented; able to drive a project or task to completion
