Job Description

The Principal Economic Analyst is a part of DPUSA Onshore F&C Team who provides economic analysis support for Onshore Operations. The tasks include but not limited to: (i) providing Management and Business with economic analyses and recommendations to support long term and short terms business planning, and to meet internal and external requirements; (ii) partnering with the Business to advice business decisions from economic standpoint, and (iii) serving as onshore expert on Statoil EA methodology and best practice. The analyst is responsible for leading or contributing to the deliveries in these areas, including stakeholder management and collaborating with other functions for their respective contributions into these tasks

The main responsibilities of the F&C Senior Analyst include:

Economic Analysis for short term and long term Business Plan

Development and management of financial models

Run economics to support short and long-term business and strategic planning

Portfolio and statistical analysis

Commercial assessment of acquisitions and divestments and other business development support

Economic analysis to support midstream and upstream commercial negotiations

Support performance management of key metrics and other internal and external reporting

Communicate and work with both internal and external stakeholders

Providing economic analyses and advice to the business to support daily decision making

Be part of the Assets and Functional teams to find optimum economic solutions for business issues

Advice, constructively challenge and support management and business to make the best economic decisions for company

Serve as EA expert for Onshore

Serve as EA expert for onshore, advice business and other members of the F&C team of Statoil EA methodology and approach

Provide guidance to the F&C team in challenged economic cases

Coach, share learnings and best practices with the Onshore Team and DPUSA F&C Network

Work with Head of Finance, DPUSA onshore on high level financial analysis in support of Strategy discussion, Performance Review meetings, etc

In addition to close partnership with Assets and Functions, all tasks above should be done in close collaboration with DPUSA F&C Onshore, Asset management, Accounting and other functions in DPUSA

Qualifications

University degree in Finance, Economics, Math or related area. Master degree is preferred

A minimum of 5-7 years of experience

A successful candidate must have strong background and experience in economics analysis and onshore business. A good understanding of Statoil EA methodology and practices is preferred

Strong analytical background, and ability to understand and address complex business issues

Understanding of integrated value-chain processes for oil and gas

Strong knowledge and experience using spreadsheets, power point and modeling skills

Integrity, ability to remain independent and objective & challenge business decisions

Strong quantitative and analytical skills, structured with orderly working methods

Team player and collaborative

Good interpersonal skills, ability to independently manage complicated process with multiple layers of internal interfaces within tight deadlines
